Discussed gun raffle. To be done by VFW. Sons will have their own raffle later in the year.
Discussed Armed Forces Day at Fonner Park for 2025. In January 2025 will need count of people that want to attend.
Discussed June Awards Program. Motion passed to hold awards program every year. 32 people will received awards this year. Menu same as last year. Hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and drinks.
Discussion on Banners for Veterans. Motion passed to donate $1,000.00 to Grand Island Home Town Heros.
Discussion of Cornhole Tournament outside of the club on our grounds. Bill has a guest speaker from the City of Grand Island coming to the next meeting to discuss the requirements for this event.
Next Son's meeting and future meetings will be held in United Room.

March 02, 2024 is the date of our next Mountain Oyster Feed. February 24, 2024 is the United Veterans Club Race Day at Fonner Park. We have 10 races available for organizations to purchase blankets.
December 06, 2023 was the SAL and ALA Annual Pot Luck Christmas Party and the lighting of the UVC Christmas tree. Everything went great. All the food was delicious. Thank you Andy for gettiing Christmas tree and thank you Charlie for decorating tree. Thanks to Scott Salhing for leading us in singing Christmas Carols.
Motion passed to give $100.00 to the Richard Simpson Memorial.

Dennis Glover was selected as the Grand Marshall for the Nebraska State Fair Veterans Parade Tuesday August 29, 2023 at 6:00pm.
The Sons start Tuesday Night Hamburger Nights September 05, 2023.
American Legion Riders State Romp is August 18, 19 and 20 at the United Veterans Club.
Willow Rising added to our Christmas donation list.
The Sons purchased 10 raffle tickets from the Grand Island Wrestling Team Raffle. Winning prizes will be raffled at next Nut Feed.

We would like to thank the Grand Island Wrestling Team for helping take down the flags and poles in the Hall County Veterans Park. Was completed in record time.

Discussed the Annual Mountain Oyster Feed. Very good turnout. Everything went well.
Discussed activities and happenings at the Grand Island Veterans Hosptial.
A motion was passed to donate a 32 inch TV to the Family Fun Night Friday June 23, 2023 at State convention.
The scholarship committee received 12 applicatioins. Three students will receive $1000.00 scholarships. They are Levi Ottman, Kajetan Hubl and Olivia Ottman. Alternates are Olivia Stava, Trevyn Keene and Keyara Jean Casper. Congratulations to all.
Had discussion on a flag retirement ceremony. More to follow.

Discussed putting holes with sleeves in the ground on the SE corner for the Mountain Oyster Feed. Will wait until the ground thaws.
Approved $400.00 to Girls State.

Sons discussed the breakfast at great length. All times and assignments are completed.
There will be a children’s Christmas party December 3, 2022 2:00 to 4:00pm at the Club. Hosted by American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary.

Next meeting will be December 07 2022 at 6:00pm. There will not be a formal meeting. At 6:00pm the groups will meet to light up the Club’s Christmas tree and sing a few Christmas Carols. At 6:30 the Sons and the American Legion Auxiliary will meet for their annual Christmas potluck.
